Gregorian Masses
It cannot be fathomed. No, it cannot be fathomed! If one mass is infinite, and a novena of masses is 9 infinite sacrifices offered, then what is 30 consecutive masses? Traditionally this continuous prayer of 30 masses is offered only for a deceased person. It is almost unheard of anymore. It takes its name from Pope St Gregory the Great, after a deceased monk appeared to him requesting 30 masses be prayed consecutively for his release from purgatory. Upon their completion he appeared again clothed in light, for he was delivered from his immense sufferings. It is the single greatest act we can possibly do for a deceased person. It is very difficult to find a priest who is willing or able to pray 30 Traditional Latin Masses without missing a day. Not only because of the time commitment, but also because of the multitude of other intentions. We hope to be able to offer this gift for the faithful, but availability will be very limited.
Stipend for Gregorian Masses: $3,000.00
We rely entirely on the graciousness of our benefactors to support the community and operating costs of the Hermitage. In return, the benefactors are included in the daily prayers of the priests and in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass offered once a month for their spiritual protection. May God reward your generosity.
